A solid boom echoed through Gabriel's mind as the sole of Kered's foot landed square in his face, he was sent rocketing backward, flying it seemed for seconds without ever touching the ground. As aching as it was, Gabriel managed to pull his head up to see the onslaught of tossed daggers flying through the air as surely as he was. He arched his back, swinging his free arm to touch the earth, and allowed the sudden halt to swing his feet forward in an attempt to regain balance on the barren earth, but the force from the impact was too much and his feet flew out from under him, causing him to ricochet of the floor, spiraling as head and torso beat themselves upon rock and stone. Finally he caught footing, and halted managing just barely enough energy to spiral the swift and dastardly blade of his to parry off all but one dagger, which buried itself steep within his left shoulder. Gabriel hollered and fell to one knee, battered and wounded from Kered's attack. He dropped his blade and reached for his opponents embedded weapon, pulling it out painstakingly, before it dropped to the ground. Gabriel sifted his knee allowing himself to fall on his rump as he placed his hand upon the wound.
"Ouch." he said simply as blood slowly leaked around his modified gauntlet. "You'll have to permit me a moment after that one." Gabriel allowed himself to fall on his back and breath for a bit, his body worn from having been skipped across nearly every orface of the arena. His nose bled profusely, having nearly been broken by the powerful kick. And his shoulder had suffered a nonlethal, but very deep and painful wound. Gabriel rose then, after a small moment of regaining stamina. And slowly rose up to stand once more. He stripped off a long piece of cloth from his tattered garbs and wrapped his shoulder diligently. Tying it off he looked at Kered with a exasperating smile. "Surely you think me a weakling, to have fallen so easily to such an attack. I had not realized that blood had poured into my eyes." Gabriel wiped his brow, feeling the gash that had come from previous strikes. Gabriel rolled his neck and arched his shoulders allowing himself to remove the pains of his body from his mind. Calling forth on untold energies to keep him upright and steady. "Ah... On the contrary, I've never felt more ready now, to show you how even a powerless man can best a sorcerer such as yourself."
Gabriel shut his eyes once more, clearing his mind of the stresses he endured, his focus sharpened, and he breathed in, and out, in and out. Not hastily nor too slow, but steady breaths, as if he was expelling the negative woes of his body, and breathing a new thread of energy into his nasal passages. Slowly he opened his eyes and brought his blade level. "This blade was forged by a bastard of a man, a blacksmith who reveled in the suffering of countless souls, given to men of greed and lust, their hatred for the world felled villages and towns, all in the name of the seven sins in this world. Our ancestors fought with these black soldiers, and in the end took it upon ourselves to take from our enemy the very thing that has reaped them rewards unknowing. This blade is more then cursed, it is a demon forged by a demon of a man, but in my hands it slumbers, never to taste the hatred of men, never to taste the crimson of the innocent life, never to lick upon the righteous and true with satisfaction. No, in my hands it is nothing but steel and fire, and though it pains me to use it, in my hands, it will never see the ocean's of blood it has drank in the countless years that have passed. It's creation contains no merit, other then to cause death, it is not a blade of honor, and so, it is my duty to show that in the right hands... it can be." Gabriel sighed one last breath before he spoke again, "But enough talk of ancient lore," he smirked then, "It is high time I returned an attack of equal merit... Prepare yourself, Kered Rekcur!"
Gabriel dispersed, nearly disappearing from his position as he covered unimaginable amounts of ground, reaching his opponent in nigh but seconds. A ferocious foot swept long and hard to mark a home upon the side of Kered's features, sweeping past and down as he spun, his blade spiraling outward as he turned to face his opponent once more, he tangled blades with his opponent shifting arms in between movements, his blade dancing from limb to limb, left hand... right hand... no hand! His blade left him completely, as he allowed it to pry into the ground, leaving it behind as he dodged and swung with fists of hellbent fury, kicks and knees of unrelenting prowess. Gabriel's gauntlets caught and batted away Kered's sword, looking as if he were catching it effortlessly with the palms of his hand and where he could not parry, his body would sway to evade miraculous counters Kered would ensue in retaliation. Gabriel was practically sending uncanny incantations of physical rock hard strength towards Kered, for a man of no special powers, his stamina and strength were at extraordinary levels.
Gabriel pushed his weight forward, thrusting his arms together and forward to barrel into kered's chest, he stumbled back then, his breathing unsteady, his face sour patched as sweat and blood stung his eyes. He leaned on his side grasping the hilt of the blade he first withdrew, the blunted edge of the blade that had defeated it's alter; the uncanny infernal blade that stood now meters behind.
Gabriel surveyed the damage he had done, then winced in pain as he over-looked himself, he did not realize it, but he had sufferend multiple aberrations, cuts, and bruises. He took another breath, steady, but harsh... and then in one quick hefty movement, lurched the blade out of it's mount in the earth. As deep as Kered may have pushed it into the ground.
"I told you I'd get my blade back. As for the latter, I think it could drink a bit of dust for a bit." he said tiresomely, his breath fast, but slowing steadily.
