This is a really late post, but I'm here to inform that the DS is officially owned by me! It is really cool. It has better than the 64 graphics and the gameplay and accessiories are amazing. I highly recommend this handheld for those who have taken a consideration into getting one. And trust me, it is worth every penny!

Yeah, them DS's are cool, but they cost a arm and a leg. $150 for just the thing, how much do them games (which I need to state, looks like a compacted floppy disk :P) run for? $50+? Geezzus...I want one, but i'm gunna have some fun getting the $$ for the damned thing...parden my language. Anyway, I suggest it too, I mean, it has better graphics then a 64...a little thing like that...yea, that's what I said...^_^

Meh, I'm waiting on the DS until there are more good games out besides Mario 64 DS. The Metroid Prime Hunters demo is neat and all, but I want something really worth the purchase of a new handheld. And the games average no more than GBA games: $30-35.

Rayman is out on Dec. 15, they are currently undergoing like 50 games right now. They're even refurbishing the famed Goldeneye 007 game ment originally for the 64. Just wait until Zelda hits the markets! And the full version of Metroid Prime will be out in early March 2005. I can't wait!

P.S. You should see the size of those cartridges. It makes the GBA ones look like the 64 ones! I could look at that thing all day just to admire its smallness. The big disadvantage... it will be very hard to find if it gets lost, so DS holders of new. Cherish the small boxes and make sure not to lose them! Your dog could be very capable of swallowing it without choking. And I'm sure you don't want to go digging through their leftovers to find it!

now there are three people out there that are inpossesion of a DS!! (at least in this school) and I am one of them! muhahaha! So i take it the games will just be in the normal stores or will they be stupid and just wait for a month or two for more people to get the ds before they put out the games? :?

In reality, they will wait until after christmas (when the big rush kicks in) and then unleash many of the new games including familiar, refurbished games, like goldeneye, and rayman. I am still aching to at least know that zelda and Conker's bad fur day will be available for the DS. Just imagine playing those classic 64 games on a hand held that fits in your pocket! Oh the possibilities!

...Just a stupid question. But does anyone think that video games were made just to wither away some random persons life bacause they don't have one?

It would make sense for them to wait until after christmas, then that just raises the question, how did you get super mario? i have a magazine at home that tells you about the release dates of upcoming games. They aren't always right and they only give you the month that they come out but they do tell you the games.

As for the statement made by Keeper, i think video games were made by a genious and that he should be praised beyond belief. I do have a life though. so it isn't just for those without lives.[/quote]

I like them because they're a virtual adventure you can take on spare time. They definately take away the dreaded word "boring" in anycase. I try to keep life and games seperate though, even if I play them on my spare time.

And I think it is actually Mario 64 DS that I picked up, Super Mario DS is another, totally different game that they either were working on, or abandoned. That as of yet is unknown to me. But I got Rayman!

I like the PSP more, can't really stand the DS. If I had the choice of getting one or the other, it would be a PSP. I played a DS in video game stores a couple of times and I wasn't very impressed. But De's trying to convince me the DS isn't as bad as I think. ^_^;

Conker sounds like a good game, what console is it for other than the DS? I know the new one is on XBox, but I highly doubt my parents would get it for me.

lol yeah, like your parents are going to let you get Conker of all games. That game is soooo bad, I mean, I would have a heart attack if your mom (being one of the coolest moms in the world :) )even LET you get that game...then again, she would probably think it is going to be funny as hell...>.> Knowing her...

Anyway, I don't really know anymore on the whole matter. DS's are okay, but PSP looks pretty fun. I haven't played one, but the only reason I would want one right now is because Advent Children is going on the PSP before DVD...but from what I have seen of that movie, it isn't worth spending $300 on something, I can wait till DVD... ^_^ So, right now I think I am still leaning toward the DS. *Blames De. for making her want one.*

It is actually for the 64, it was originally supposed to be a kiddy game but I guess one of the designers got pissed. Now it a squirrel full of blood exploding into bits in pieces... yeah...

The DS/PSP

Picking up on the topic, after going through a few games, such as:

-Super Mario 64 (My first aside from Metroid demo)
-Sprung (Not recommended)
-Star Wars Episode III (Keeps a game boy advance graphic, but the ship flying in multiplayer gives it a thumbs up. Rogue Squadron for DS pretty much)
-Rayman DS (If you liked the 64 version, you'll like this one... it's still the same as the original though...)
-Metroid Hunters (Demo: Tis okay.)
-Resident Evil Deadly Silence (Very Highly Recommended!)
-Mario Kart DS (Very Highly Recommended: I'll see ya in the tracks! Wireless style!)

There may be others, but since I've gotten these games, I'd have to say... DS is looking bright in it's platinum radiance!

Rayman ROCKS. :o I remember playing those games...gaaah, they were so cool. I never got a chance to actually play a PSP, a friend of mine had his at school but I didn't get to touch it. :| I was excited and they told me to stop freaking out, so I didn't get to play. *sigh* And he had Ape Escape, too. I played Deloss' DS, and I actually like it more than a SP. The layout of SP's just irritate me. You want to play gameboy games on a laptop like system? Buy an emulator. But I won't complain.
I must say, I like it when people play old games on GBA's and SP's. I pretended I was going to yank this kid's game out of his GBA and he flipped. T'was Pokemon.

Unrelated to either the DS or the PSP is the GP2X a linux based handheld. Run emulators for psp and ds games on the same system. I think yes.
